All members of the Management, Professional and Administrative job family are invited to get involved in the MPA Peer Network.

Run by a small committee of volunteers, the grassroots network is independent and externally funded via a start-up grant. It aims to provide a social and professional network to facilitate communication and collaboration between MPA colleagues of all grades across the University.

Chairperson of the committee, Fran Henshelwood, said: “The idea came about after a small group of us attended a Peer Support training course for MPA staff. We carried on meeting regularly after the course and found it really useful to spend time with people working in similar roles in different parts of the University.”

The network has received support and encouragement from across the university, with Deputy Secretary Dorothy Welch championing their approach: “This is a fantastic initiative with great potential to improve staff wellbeing and to foster innovative and collaborative ways of working across the University.”

The committee is working hard to develop a full programme of events for 2018 and would value input from as many MPA staff as possible.
