Strathclyde honour for Professor Sheila Rowan

Professor Sheila Rowan has received an honorary doctorate
Professor Sheila Rowan, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Glasgow and Chief Scientific Advisor to the Scottish Government, has received the honorary degree of Doctor of Science from the University of Strathclyde.
She is Director of the Institute for Gravitational Research at the University of Glasgow. In 2016, Professor Rowan and her team contributed to the 2016 Special Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics for their work on the first detection of gravitational waves, which was announced in February 2016. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE) in 2008 and a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2018.
She was one of a number of recipients of honorary degrees at the University of Strathclyde's November graduation ceremonies.
