Call for Computing Science project proposals
Published: 17 July 2018
The deadline is fast approaching to submit a proposal - 31 August 2018.
Computing Science are seeking customer project proposals for their Software Team Projects course the 2018-19 academic year.
Each year they run a Software Team Projects course that introduces students to the challenges of working with real world customers. The course gives students the opportunity to engage in projects that have real world impact and work with customers with a range of expertise and experiences.
For example, last year, one of the student teams built a sparrow sightings reporting application and game for the RSPB that is now being deployed and used across Scotland.
They are seeking new proposals for projects from external organisations and other academic and business units within the University.
Initial proposals can be very short, providing a brief summary of the organisation and the project for students to work on. The proposal must involve some form of substantial software development, rather than being predominantly configuration work, or content development.
