Published: 10 July 2018
The School of Engineering's Electronic Systems Design Centre is hosting its annual lecture on "Electronic skins connecting cyberspace and human".
The topic this year of the School of Engineering's Electronic Systems Design Centre's series of annual lectures is "Electronic skins connecting cyberspace and human".
The lecture, on Friday, 27 July, 11.30-13.00, in lecture theatre 408, Rankine Building, is being given by Professor Takao Someya from the University of Tokyo.
Wearable electronics are expected to open up a new class of applications ranging from health-monitoring, motion-capturing, human-machine interfaces, and new IT fashion. In order to expand emerging applications of wearable technologies, printed flexible biomedical sensors have attracted much attention recently. This lecture will review recent progresses of wearables, smart apparels, and artificial electronic skins (E-skins) from the contexts of high-precision and long-term vital signal monitoring.
