The University of Glasgow partnered with Tedx Glasgow for the third year for the conference on Friday 2 June.

‘Lead or follow’ was the theme for this year’s event and speakers included UofG’s Professor of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Helen Minnis with a talk on ‘leading by admitting that you don’t know’ and  Mitchell Lecturer Dr Liberty Vittert on ‘how to win the lottery and get away with murder’.

1,600 delegates attended from all over the world; with attendees travelling from as far as Malaysia, Jamaica, USA, Iraq and China.

The hashtag for the event, #Tedxgla2017 was used over 5,000 tunes and was trending throughout the UK for over 11 hours.

A highlight of the event was a demonstration of an ‘iron man like’ flying suit by founder of human propulsion technology start-up Gravity Richard Browning.  Check out the video of Richard flying!
