Dr Kelp wins Young Epistemologist prize 2017

Dr Christoph Kelp from the School of Humanities is one of two winners of this year's Young Epistemologist prize.
Dr Christoph Kelp, lecturer in Philosophy, is one of two winners of this year’s Young Epistemologist prize.
Christoph visited Rutgers – the State University of New Jersey – to deliver his prize-winning paper, ‘Inquiry and the Transmission of Knowledge’.
Both winning papers were presented at the Rutgers Epistemology Conference on May 5/6 and are being published in Philosophy and Phenomenological Research.
Professor Roibeard O Maolalaigh, Vice Principal and Head of the College of Arts said: ‘We were delighted to attract a philosopher of Dr Kelp’s calibre to the University of Glasgow. The award of this prestigious prize endorses the excellence of his research, and we wish him continued success here at the University of Glasgow’.

About Dr Christoph Kelp
Christoph joined the University of Glasgow in May. Christoph completed a Ph.D. at the University of Stirling in 2010 and took up a position as postdoctoral researcher on the Formal Epistemology Project. Between 2010 and 2013 he worked on an individual postdoctoral research project entitled 'The Value of Knowledge'. After, he moved on to a Research Professorship at KU Leuven, which he held until moving to UofG.
Christoph’s research focuses mainly on epistemology. He has worked on a wide range of issues in the field and taught in a number of areas in philosophy.
