A group of research staff from the Colleges of MVLS and Science and Engineering attended the Biotech and Healthcare Venture Creation Weekend in Cambridge last month and left as winners.

The event was organised by University of Cambridge Judge Business School and AstraZeneca, and gave participants an opportunity to develop, test, and pitch business ideas.

The team from University of Glasgow had a very successful weekend, and were awarded first prize by an expert judging panel for their venture idea, which was based upon developing a point of care device for the diagnosis of heart attacks in order to reduce crowding in A&E.

This is part of an ongoing postdoc entrepreneurship-themed collaboration with University of Cambridge. If you would like to know more about this project, please contact Elizabeth Adams
