Image of UofG alumna and scientist Carla BrownThe American business magazine, Forbes, has unveiled its second annual “30 Under 30 Europe” list, featuring 30 young innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders across Europe who are under 30 years of age and who are transforming business, technology, finance, media, culture and more, as judged by some of the most accomplished and acclaimed individuals in each category.

And in the Science and Healthcare list is University of Glasgow alumna Carla Louise Brown. Carla, who studied microbiology, took the lead in developing the mobile game Bacteria Combat.

Bacteria Combat is a Top Trumps-style game aimed at players aged between 8 and 13. Players are given cards representing a wide range of ‘friendly’ and ‘harmful’ bacteria. They face off against a computer-controlled ‘Bacteria Bot’ by pitting their bacteria’s strength, regeneration, speed and resistance scores against each other, with the highest scores winning the round.
