South Asian Heritage Month takes place from 18 July to 17 of August (where the theme is Journeys of Empire) this year. The University's Equality and Diversity Unit are supporting the event and are inviting staff members of a South Asian heritage background (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Bangladesh) to take part by submitting a profile of themselves which will be shared on the EDU webpages similar to the LGBTQ+ Network.

If you are interested in taking part, please include

1. a photograph of yourselves with your job title, and a link to your staff page.

2. a short-written piece (200-300 words) of who you are, and your journey.

  • What drew you to working at the University of Glasgow
  • How can employers support their Black and Minority Ethnic staff?
  • Why is it important to have role models?

Please send the completed profile with the requested photograph of your choice to EDI Policy Adviser Dr Nighet Riaz, Nighet.Riaz@glasgow.ac.uk by 17 of June.

*Please note that we will also be sending out a wider request for colleagues to submit profiles ahead of Black History Month.
