The last couple of years has increasingly highlighted just how important it is for the University to ensure support and services are available digitally to both staff and students, and that these are created in a way that is both sustainable and flexible as demand and technological change increases.

A collaboration of Information Services portal developers and the team behind the UofG Life App, have undertaken an initial period of discovery work, and the team are now keen to share their progress so far and highlight how colleagues can get involved in the next phase of this project.

Assistant Director Business Systems, Anna Phelan, recently shared some background on the importance of this work and what it means for staff and students.

This project aims to provide an easy-to-navigate home for features and services important to staff, including internal communications, staff induction and health and wellbeing services. You can find out more in our blog published last month or watch this short video About Our Portal.

How can you get involved?

We are running collaborative workshops to explore how we can engage staff in the development of this new digital service and collectively think about a new name that encapsulates what it can do.

In these sessions we will be looking at:

  • What other organisations are doing in this digital space?
  • How other workplaces develop and name their portals and intranets.
  • How we will use and align with UofG branding.

Join us for an exciting one-hour session, share your thoughts and ideas and help us on the way as we develop the next generation of our staff portal.
