The University's Overseas Team and the Grant Support Team at Radboud University in the Netherlands jointly delivered the first in a series of thematic networking sessions on 21 September, involving researchers from a wide range of disciplines whose research focusses on Sustainability.

Colleagues from the School of Health and Wellbeing (MVLS and CoSS), School of Culture and Creative Arts (CoA), School of Humanities (CoA), School of Interdisciplinary Studies (CoSS), Education (CoSS) and the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences (CoSE) all contributed to the event.

Lorna Hughes, the University's Dean for Global Engagement for Europe and co-chair of the Glasgow-Radboud Steering Committee opened the session, highlighting the various close collaborations between colleagues at both institutions, particularly since the signing of the MoU between Glasgow and Radboud in 2018.

University of Glasgow and Radboud staff can apply for joint funding to the Collaboration Fund (this is an annual call which usually opens in January/February) for up to £20,000 for either Research or Learning and Teaching projects.  This seed funding could be the start of potential joint grant applications.

Individual grants of up to £2,000 for short-term staff mobilities are also available, applications for these can be submitted at any time.

Interested in Sustainability but didn’t participate in the event?  A Microsoft Teams environment on Sustainability will be set up for researchers from Glasgow and Radboud interested in networking, collaborating and connecting with researchers with similar interests. If you have an interest in sustainability and would like to be added to this please contact Adriana (Adriana.brincat@glasgow.ac.uk) or Ross (ross.hanley@glasgow.ac.uk).
