The University’s Estates Directorate has been recognised by the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) with a Gold Award for the fourth year in a row.

RoSPA recognition, which is considered world-leading in health, safety and accident prevention, highlights the University’s commitment to the high standard of health and safety practices, and the work Estates teams have carried out throughout the previous year.

The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest running of its kind in the UK and receives nearly 2,000 entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for health and safety worldwide.

Ian Campbell, Executive Director of Estates, said: “I am very proud of our work ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and students are foremost in all our operations. I am delighted that the tremendous effort our teams put into safety management continues to be recognised by RoSPA.”

Chris Ferguson, Senior Compliance Adviser, said: “This award is a great recognition for the Estates Directorate and University showing the highest level of commitment to safety management, especially while working through a pandemic and operating a massive estate and significant development programme.

Congratulations to the Estates Directorate and all the teams involved on this achievement. You can find out more information about RoSPA here RoSPA – The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents - RoSPA
