Update on the return to campus for office-based colleagues
As we begin the new academic year and continue our recovery from the pandemic, we are seeing more activity on our campuses. Over recent weeks, teaching activities have increased, in addition to various research operations that have been continuing across our campuses over previous months.
From this month (1 October), we are continuing a phased return of colleagues who work in office-based roles, who can now work two days per week from campus as we continue to explore new and hybrid ways of working.
For those who manage colleagues, there is now an online recording available of the Return to Campus: Managers’ Guidance webinar with panel Q&A, which was held on 3 September.
We also have comprehensive information about our COVID recovery programme, including FAQs about returning to campus on the HR Coronavirus: Information for Staff webpages.
Upon returning to campus, all colleagues should be aware of the University’s safety protocol:
- Face coverings– guidance for staff and students on wearing face coverings is available on our website.
- Asymptomatic Testing – Scottish Government advice is to test using lateral flow devices twice a week; tests can be collected from pharmacies, ordered online or are available for collection on-campus.
Last week we circulated an update about the University’s arrangements during COP26, during which we are asking colleagues who do not have essential activities on campus to work from home during the period 31 October-12 November, if possible.
