The Complete University Guide, published today, places the University of Glasgow top in the UK in eight subjects - five of them in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences.

The University is ranked first in the following subject tables: Accounting & Finance; Dentistry; Drama, Dance & Cinematic; Education; Medicine; Nursing; Sports Science; and Veterinary Medicine.

Glasgow was top in seven subject tables last year - it is now in joint first place for Medicine, alongside the University of Dundee, across the UK. Glasgow climbed two places to joint first in the 2021 rankings for Medicine; Dundee rose five places.

Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, Vice-Principal and Head of the College of MVLS, said: “I am delighted that the strengths of all the Schools within the College of MVLS have received external recognition and endorsement.  I know how hard everyone within the College works to produce world-changing research and develop students to make a real difference to many different aspects of our nation but it is always gratifying to receive an endorsement from an independent, external organisation."

Overall, Glasgow retains its place in the Complete University Guide top 20, at 19th in the UK and 3rd in Scotland.
