Unfortunately, we won’t be able to celebrate graduations on campus at the usual time. However, we still want to mark the brilliant achievements of our graduates and to do this we are holding a week of celebrations online and on social media from Mon 29 June to Friday 3 July.

Surprise your graduate

We will be making a video of messages of congratulations to graduates which we will share across our social media channels. Do you know someone who is graduating? Maybe your child, a relative, spouse or friend? Then send us a short video message for them and we will share it.

You can film your message on your phone – hold the phone horizontally as you film. Max length of video should be 30 seconds. Send it to socialmedia@glasgow.ac.uk by 20 June.

Tips for filming

  • Hold your phone horizontally or get someone to film you which might be easier - but not too far away from the camera.
  • Position yourself in the middle of the shot (so we can crop it square in the edit)
  • Hold or position the phone at roughly arm’s length so you capture a shot of your head and shoulders if filming yourself – Make sure you are not too near the screen so there is some space to add subtitles. Equally, don’t stand miles away! 
  • Keep the camera at eye level and speak directly to the camera
