UofG only Scottish venue chosen by programme for an outside broadcast
BBC Radio 4’s flagship lunchtime news programme, "The World At One", came live from the Glasgow University Union on Friday 15 February.
The University of Glasgow is the only Scottish venue to have been chosen by the progamme for an outside broadcast.
The Principal, Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, was interviewed on the impact of Brexit upon student recruitment and the UK Government’s White Paper on immigration.
The Principal said: "It was great to welcome the BBC on to campus, and "The World At One" is the latest in a series of high-profile broadcasters to choose the University of Glasgow as a location. Last year the Today Programme co-presented their entire output here, and we have also secured the only outside broadcast of Melvyn Bragg’s "In Our Time" as well as live output from Radio 1."
