Car parking update

David Duncan, Chair of the Car Parking Working Group, gives an update
Dear Colleagues,
Thank you to everyone who has been using the new car parking permit scheme, which came into effect in the new year.
We are aware of some initial difficulties with access at the automatic barriers, which we are working to resolve, so that permit holders can use their cards to gain access. In the meantime security staff will be on hand to assist.
During the first week back we were also aware of a particular software issue which prevented the booking of visitor bays. We are currently working to iron out this problem, and in the mean-time visitor passes can be requested via the car parking webpage.
Colleagues should also note that, as was the case under the previous scheme, for Gilmorehill and Garscube a permit does not guarantee a parking space but it offers the right to enter the campus and look for a space. There may be periods, when the campus is particularly busy, when available parking spaces are limited.
Please be mindful that our project and security staff are working hard to ensure that the campus remains open and accessible to all throughout the implementation of this new system.
I would like to thank everyone for your patience during this period of bedding in.
