Latest event to raise Senior Management Group visibility focused on E&CS staff
Staff from Estates and Commercial Services joined members of the Senior Management Group last week for the third in a series of networking events aimed at raising the visibility of members of SMG and their work.
The breakfast event at the GUU started at 8am to accommodate those staff members who have early shifts.
SMG members, who gave short introductions to their roles and responsibilities, were:
- Dr David Duncan, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary of the University, who outlined his roles as - responsibility for University services and Mental Health Champion
- Professor Roibeard O Maolalaigh, Vice Principal and Head of the College of Arts, Professor of Gaelic, and LGBT+ Champion
- Christine Barr, Director of Human Resources.
The event was also attended by Ann Allen, Executive Director of Estates and Commercial Services, and led by James Hamilton, Director of Organisational Development.
An open question and answer session covered a wide range of issues – from short-term contracts to the review of terms and conditions; involvement of staff in the design of new buildings under the campus development programme and gender equality in the provision of facilities; and from PDRs to the communication of information.
Attendees also took part in an online poll on the University’s values and culture using slido.com which is accessed anonymously via mobile phones. More than 60 members of staff attended.
