The University is seeking applications from dynamic academic colleagues who are interested in an exciting opportunity to advance the University’s international ambitions.

“The University is looking to appoint three Deans for Global Engagement across three strategically important regions. This is an excellent opportunity for colleagues who are passionate about championing Glasgow’s excellence around the world and have a desire to take forward our significant international objectives.," said Rachel Sandison, Vice-Principal for External Relations.

The regions that are being advertised for are: Eurasia and South Asia; South East Asia (Australasia); and the Americas.

Assistant Vice-Principal (International) Professor William Cushley added: “I hope that this opportunity will excite colleagues who have some experience of working internationally already and who would enjoy the challenge of representing the University and leading our strategic engagement in these regions.

“These roles will have a critical role to play in partnership development across the region, securing and promoting funding opportunities, contributing to recruitment efforts, and developing and maintaining a strategic plan for engagement across each region with colleagues from External Relations.”

When appointed, these three posts will sit alongside and complement the existing Deans for Global Engagement for East Asia, Europe, and Africa & the Middle East. Together, the six Deans will ensure that the University maintains its position as a World Changing University with strong and successful partnerships around the world.

The Deans for Global Engagement will undertake the role on a 0.5 FTE basis and will retain an active role in their Schools and institutes. The roles will begin from 1 August 2019 for an initial term of four years.

For more information about this opportunity, interested staff are encouraged to refer to the internal vacancy pages for the Job Description or contact Prof. Cushley for an informal conversation or any questions: William.cushley@glasgow.ac.uk. Deadline for applications will be 31 May.
