Deans for Global Engagement Appointed

The three new Deans will cover three strategically important regions
Vice-Principal (External Relations) Rachel Sandison is pleased to announce that the University has appointed three new Deans for Global Engagement (DGE) for three strategically important regions.
“I am delighted that we have been able to recruit three exceptional colleagues to these critical positions. All of our new Deans are passionate about championing Glasgow’s excellence around the world and have a desire to take forward our significant international objectives,” she said.
The successful candidates, and the regions where they will operate, are:
- Professor Moyra Boland (DGE for Eurasia & South Asia)
- Dr. Penny Morris (DGE for the Americas)
- Professor Clare McManus (DGE for South-east Asia and Australasia
These three posts will sit alongside and complement the existing Deans for Global Engagement for East Asia, Europe, and Africa & the Middle East. Together, the six Deans will ensure that the University maintains its position as a World Changing University with strong and successful partnerships around the world.
Assistant Vice-Principal (International), Prof William Cushley, added: “Our new Deans for Global Engagement bring with them a wealth of experience in the sphere of Higher Education internationalisation activity and I very much look forward to working together with them to advance further Glasgow’s global reputation and reach.”
“These roles will have a pivotal role to play in partnership development across the three regions, securing and promoting funding opportunities, contributing to recruitment efforts, and developing and maintaining a strategic plan for engagement across each region with colleagues from the four Colleges and External Relations.”
All Deans for Global Engagement undertake their roles on a 0.5 FTE basis and will retain an active role in their Schools and institutes.
