An update on work on the Learning and Teaching Hub and the Western site
Multiplex, the University’s principal contractor for its campus development programme, will formally take over the Western site on Monday, July 9.
Until now, Graham Construction have been carrying out enabling and demolition work on the site.
On Friday, July 6, Multiplex will remove its site office and welfare cabins from the Learning and Teaching Hub site for them to be transferred on Monday, July 9, to the Western site beside the Western Infirmary Lecture Theatre (WILT). A single toilet block cabin will be left on the LTH site, situated near Hetherington House.
Multiplex plan to install by the end of July a 20m covered walkway along the University Avenue side of the site as a health and safety precaution while construction is being carried out in close proximity to the pavement.
Pedestrian access to the lower section of University Gardens is to be controlled by a turnstile, to be installed by Multiplex.
On Saturday, July 7, Multiplex will be pruning trees in University Gardens and Lilybank Gardens.
