Secretary of Court, David Newall, is to leave the University of Glasgow next spring, after more than a decade in the role. The news was announced in a joint message to staff and students from David Ross, Convenor of Court, and the Principal, Professor Anton Muscatelli.
Dear Colleague We wanted to let you know that David Newall, Secretary of Court and Director of Administration, has decided to leave the university in April 2017. David, who took up his post in 2004, is planning a change of direction, including post graduate study and chairing the Board of Management of a local FE college. David has been a huge part of university life and a highly valued colleague on the Senior Management Group for more than a decade. Distinct from his role as Director of Administration, David's governance role in supporting Court is one which he fulfils with great assurance. Under his astute stewardship we are in a strong position as we look to develop our campus, further build our reputation, and cement our place as one of the leading institutions in the country. It will be hard to imagine life at the University without David's calm and assured guidance and counsel, and we all wish him the very best for the future. Best regards David Ross, Convenor of Court |
