Professor Moira Fischbacher-Smith has been appointed to the position of Assistant Vice-Principal (Learning & Teaching).
Professor Moira Fischbacher-Smith has been appointed to the position of Assistant Vice-Principal (Learning & Teaching), from 5 January 2016 for 3 years.
This is a new position, to support Professor Frank Coton, whose portfolio was recently broadened to include oversight of the University’s IT strategy.
Moira has extensive experience in leading and contributing to learning and teaching strategy at College and University level and has been a key contributor to several University working groups including the group that is currently working on new promotions criteria for the Learning, Teaching and Scholarship career track.
Professor Frank Coton said, “Moira has considerable and wide-ranging experience in contributing to learning and teaching strategy in her role as Dean of Learning and Teaching for the College of Social Sciences and I am delighted to have her support as Assistant Vice-Principal.
"She is highly effective and eminently well qualified to assist with leading and implementing the learning and teaching strategy at this important point in our history as we develop our campus for future generations”.
Moira said, “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to support Frank in leading the delivery of the University’s new learning and teaching strategy. This is an exciting time to be taking this role on with so much happening in terms of online learning, learning technologies, pedagogy and the campus development”.
This is a part-time position and Moira will also continue in her current roles in the Adam Smith Business School and as Dean (Learning & Teaching) in the College of Social Sciences.
