We are delighted to be launching our new People Strategy which complements and builds upon our previous People and Organisational Development Strategy published in 2013, writes Christine Barr, Director of Human Resources.

Our strategic aims and objectives as outlined in the document are directly aligned with the people theme of the University’s Inspiring People, Changing the World strategic plan.

The People Strategy was developed in consultation with the University Court, managers, staff and trade unions. An array of factors were taken into consideration in its development including feedback gained from the 2014 Staff Survey, and external factors ranging from the political uncertainty resulting from Brexit, to changes in legislation.

The Human Resources function across the Campus will continue to work in strategic partnership with colleagues, supporting senior leaders, managers and staff to maximise all of our contributions to the delivery of our three strategic people themes of attracting talent, supporting development and leading transformation.

While this People Strategy will play a key guiding role in achieving our ambitions and gives us an overall sense of direction, as we move forward, it will be underpinned by a series of operational plans with clear actions, timescales and measures of success.

I look forward to working closely with colleagues across the University to support the aims of both the People and University strategies over the coming years.
