Are you interested to find out more about how partner universities are successful in particular developments? Do you want to visit one of our overseas partners or potential partners accomplished in areas of particular interest to you and from which you think both you and the University could learn?

In April 2016 we are launching the International Experience Fund (IEF), a resource which is designed to encourage staff to undertake short international visits and exchanges with overseas partner and potential partner institutions. The International Experience Fund has evolved from the Staff Mobility Programme and is funded through the University Trust

How can support from the International Experience Fund be accessed?

The IEF provides joint funding for ventures identified through one of two routes:

University Identified Projects - the University will identify ideas for projects which members of staff may be interested to further explore

Or

Self-Identified Projects - applicants may have identified a project which is of interest to them and which meets the IEF criteria.

What sort of projects would attract funding?

Projects which have the potential to attract IEF support must meet the criteria outlined in the International Experience Fund web page and should include the provision of personal and career development opportunities, they may also cover benchmarking against international best practice, facilitating exchange visits, promoting knowledge and understanding or any activity which will be considered to advance the University of Glasgow’s internationalisation strategy.

The IEF provides different levels of economic support  for activities and applicants are expected to secure a percentage of local funding from their College or Service to address any outstanding financial balance for their visit.

Where can more information about the IEF be found?
