Everyone has a role to play in creating a mentally healthy workplace and it can have benefits for you and your colleagues.

We know that staff costs linked to mental health in the workplace can be significant for businesses; the total cost of sickness absence attributable to mental health problems is estimated at £335 a year for every employee in the UK workforce.

However, more than this, we know the effect that mental health can have on the individual.

There is a new online course for anyone who wants to learn more about mental health in the workplace.

To access the course, log into MyGlasgow and the link to the Moodle course is under 'Announcements'

The course has been developed by the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives, who provide support to workplaces across Scotland on all aspects of workplace health and safety, occupational health and health promotion.

For more information visit Healthly Working Lives.

This work has been supported by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Anti-Stigma Partnership and the Mental Health Foundation.

The University has an external counselling service that all staff can access. Details can be found on the Occupational Health website.

If you have any questions or problems accessing the course, please contact Laura.Christie@glasgow.ac.uk
