Seven people from the UK and the international community will be awarded honorary degrees at this year's Commemoration Day.
This year’s annual Commemoration Day, which celebrates the foundation of the University of Glasgow in 1451, will be held on Wednesday 17 June.
Seven people from across the globe will be awarded honorary degrees with awardees from Britain, Dominica, China, Austria, Canada and Uganda. The group covers the areas of law, business, health, politics, science and education.
Honorary degrees will be presented to the following people:

Commemoration Day events will include:

University staff and a guest(s) are warmly invited to attend one, two or all three of the above events on Wednesday 17 June 2015.
You are also invited to join the academic procession at either or both the Service and the Graduation Ceremony.

Gowns can be hired free of charge for staff wishing to take part in the academic procession, but the order must be placed by 15 May 2015. For gown hire, please email staffgowns@glasgow.ac.uk with details about Height, Awarding University and Degree Awarded.
