Principal joins USS board

The Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, Professor Anton Muscatelli, has joined the board of USS (Universities Superannuation Scheme).
The Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, Professor Anton Muscatelli, has joined the board of USS (Universities Superannuation Scheme).
He was nominated by Universities UK and took up his position on the trustee board from 1 April 2015. He will also be a member of the Investment Committee.
Professor Muscatelli said: “I am pleased to be joining the USS trustee board and look forward to working alongside board colleagues and the USS team to manage the many and varied challenges in delivering good workplace pensions for higher education employers and scheme members.”
Professor Muscatelli's appointment comes as the USS appoints a new Chairman. Professor Sir David Eastwood, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, and a director on the trustee board since 2007 has taken up the role following the retirement of Sir Martin Harris.
The trustee board has 12 members who are directors of the USS trustee company. A full list of directors is available on the USS website.
