The University of Glasgow won this year’s Glasgow Taxis’ Cup.
The University of Glasgow won this year’s Glasgow Taxis’ Cup in convincing fashion with a historic 5th win and their third successive Glasgow Cup title. Chris Millar, President of the Glasgow University Sports Association, said: "The event was a great success; now in its 9th year the trophy has grown to become Scotland’s largest intervarsity event with over 750 competing students across 18 different sports. It really is brilliant we are leading the way with such high numbers participating in sport and performing at a high level."
There was further evidence of top level performance with one of the University's sports bursars - Lauren Gray – being involved in the Scotland’s Women Team that were crowned World Curling Championships earlier this year. And the Glasgow University Cycling Club enjoyed success at the BUCS Track Cycling Championships at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Emirates Arena in Glasgow on the 18th and 19th of May.
