Glasgow to host 11th World Biomaterials Congress

Glasgow has been chosen as the venue for the 11th World Biomaterials Congress, scheduled for June 2020.
Glasgow has been chosen as the venue for the 11th World Biomaterials Congress, scheduled for June 2020. The bid was put together by the University of Glasgow, SECC, Glasgow City Council and the UK Society for Biomaterials with the support of the European Society for Biomaterials. The World Biomaterials Congress is held every four years and usually rotates between Europe, Asia/Pacific and North America. At the 9th WBC recently in China over 3,000 delegates attended from 58 countries, thus 3,000 - 4,000 delegates are expected in 2020.
The Congress will be a four day meeting covering subjects including biomaterials production, modification and testing, cellular and other responses to biomaterials and will cover from materials development through to the use in patients. Clinical applications will include orthopaedics, cardiovascular, skin, dental and neurosurgical.
The 10th World Biomaterials Congress will be held in Montreal, Canada, on 18-22 May 2016. For more information, go to http://www.wbc2016.org
