SIT announced its new programmes for 2012 at a recent press conference in Singapore. The University of Glasgow, as part of our existing partnership, announced two new additions to our portfolio of programmes:
i) Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Aeronautical Engineering
ii) Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Aerospace Systems

As an institution initiated by the Ministry of Education, SIT continues to add new degree programmes to offer polytechnic graduates more upgrading opportunities with industry-focused degrees in growth sectors of the economy. SIT keeps close consultation with government agencies, polytechnics and industry partners to ensure that the degree programmes and OUs selected have high reputation in their respective fields.

On the new collaborations, SIT President Professor Tan Chin Tiong said, “SIT has grown rapidly since it was established in 2009. We have now expanded our disciplines to include design and education. We want to equip our students with the know-how to excel in their chosen fields of study and be job-ready for employers when they graduate. We are pleased to have these new degree programmes and anticipate announcing more soon.”

Professor John Chapman, Head of the College of Science & Engineering, said:'We are delighted to be extending our collaboration with SIT. The programmes that we launched last September are going very well and we are excited by the response from prospective students for the new ones. The strengthening of ties more generally within the dynamic environment of Singapore is good for both the College and the University as a whole.'

The University is planning a flagship event in Singapore in March this year to celebrate the links between the University of Glasgow and Singapore.
