A new Glasgow-based publisher, Potingair Press (http://www.potingair.com), has just been launched. Established by staff in Archaeology in the University (Effie Photos-Jones, Allan Hall and Richard Jones), its goal is to disseminate to the public at large, in an easy and informative way, interdisciplinary studies in archaeology, history, the environment and the physical and earth sciences.
The Early Materials and Practices Series brings together under one cover studies in landscape and material culture. The first book in this series is Lemnian Earth and the earths of the Aegean: an archaeological guide to medicines, pigments and washing powders, authored by Effie Photos-Jones and Allan Hall.
Two further titles are expected at the end of the year:
Precious Landscapes : Scotland's native gold and silver by Allan Hall
Eros Mercator and the productive landscape of Melos: the archaeology of 'invisible' landscapes by Effie Photos-Jones and Allan Hall
