The GRAMNet film series starts this October, featuring screenings of films relating to themes of migration and social justice
The GRAMNet Film Series 2011/12 will begin this October with a screening of ‘Tawona’s Story’, a documentary looking into the lives of African migrants living in Glasgow.
The film is the first of a series of eight, all of which will be screen at the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) on Sauchiehall Street. All screenings will be followed by informal discussions, Q&A sessions and forums.
The series is run by the Glasgow Refugee Asylum and Migration Network (GRAMNet), in collaboration with the Black and Ethnic Minorities Infrastructure in Scotland (BEMIS), with the support of the newly formed Glasgow Human Rights Network (GHRN).
The ethos underpinning the series this year is ‘Think Global, Act Local’ and they will showcase films and documentaries relating to the issues surrounding migration, immigration and social justice.

One Way, A Tuareg Journey
21 Mar - She, A Chinese
11 Apr - Dooman River
23 May - Immigrant Nation!: the Battle for the Dream
20 Jun - The Art of Flight
