Confucius Institute to be launched at Glasgow

An invitation to the launch on Tuesday 4 October 2011
The Principal of the University of Glasgow, Professor Anton Muscatelli, and the President of Nankai University, Professor Gong Ke, invite you to join them for the official launch of the Confucius Institute at the University of Glasgow on Tuesday 4 October 2011.
Set up with Scottish Government backing and partnered with Nankai University in Tianjin, the Confucius Institute will promote educational, economic, and cultural ties between Scotland and China.
The launch will take place in Bute Hall, Gilbert Scott Building, University Avenue at the University of Glasgow www.glasgow.ac.uk. Doors open at 13.30 and proceedings will start promptly at 14.00 and run until approx 15.30.
Later that day you also have the opportunity to attend the official opening of “The World of Splash Ink” by Professor Fan Zeng in the Kelvin Gallery at the Hunterian Museum. This event opens at 17.30 with a preview of the exhibition followed by a special lecture from Professor Fan at 18.00 until 19.15.
