MyCampus, the University's new student information system, is now live
MyCampus, the University's new student information system, is now live. A successful pilot exercise was run in July with 1st year Science students, and the system then opened to all new students on 9 August and to continuing students - whose records have been transferred from the old Websurf system - on 16 August. By 31 August, 19,000 students had been sent log on details to enable them to register and enrol, and over half had successfully completed registration and moved on to enrol on classes.
The next two weeks will be a busy period. Central, College and School support teams are receiving a large volume of queries and calls for assistance as students engage for the first time with the new system, and are working hard to respond to these as quickly as possible. Some problems have been experienced with the enrolment process and staff in the support teams have resolved most of these and are working to resolve the remainder. The system has successfully handled the large volume of activity in recent weeks, with the exception of a period on 18 August, when response times were slow. The reason for that has been identified, and system performance has otherwise been good.
The next edition of Campus e-news will include an update on the early operation and experience of My Campus.
