The University is phasing out its default retirement age as legislation changes.
The University is phasing out its default retirement age as legislation changes. This means that going forward there will not be a set retirement age for staff in the University.
Transitional arrangements will apply to those who will be aged 65 or over on the 30 September 2011 and they were notified of their retirement date prior to the 6 April 2011. These retirements will go ahead as notified.
For others, the Age Equality Policy has been updated to reflect these changes and is now available on the HR website along with retirement guidance and details of the transitional arrangements.
