Vale PressThe Vale Press (1896-1904), under Charles Ricketts, modified the ideas of William Morris. The books produced were perhaps less grand than those of Kelmscott, but still very original. Ricketts designed three founts; his experimentation in half-uncials reflects his interest in the ancient letter forms of the scribes. The edition of the fifteenth century poem The Kingis Quair is one of the most interesting of the Vale books.
