Glasgow Bridge
The Glasgow, or Jamaica Street Bridge was designed by Thomas Telford (1757-1834) and opened in 1836. It replaced an earlier structure and was 560 feet long and 60 feet wide. The classical seven-arched bridge was succeeded by the present crossing in the 1890s.
