The Evidence Stage
If the Selection Panel decides that the nomination should proceed, the proposers will be invited to supply an evidence statement of no more than five sides of A4: TEA Evidence statement guidelines 2013 Evidence provided should underpin and strengthen the application for a TEA award and explain the significance of particular work in contributing to excellence in teaching and learning.
The Role of College Deans Learning & Teaching
The relevant Dean (Learning & Teaching) or equivalent if the nominee(s) is/are not based in a college, should confirm the accuracy of the evidence to the Selection Panel in a TEA Confirmation of Evidence Statement
Panel Review of Nominations
The Selection Panel will make the final decisions on which nominees will receive an award.
All proposers and nominees will be informed of the decisions made by the Panel by the end of May 2013.
Award Ceremonies and Celebration with the Principal
The Awards will normally be made at the June Graduation Ceremony of the relevant college. This will be followed by awardees being photographed and receiving an invitation to an event at the Principal's Lodging (usually held in November).
To provide guidance to future award proposers, Teaching Excellence Award winners will be invited to share their nomination and evidence statements (or relevant extracts). If they agree to do so, these will be shared via the TEA web pages. Until such information is posted, proposers can contact staff in the Academic Development Unit of the Learning and Teaching Centre for guidance.
