START OF SEMESTER CHECKLIST
As you prepare for the coming semester, take note of the University of Glasgow support resources, tips for setting up your Moodle course, and some steps for success in your courses.
Course Approval
All new courses and course changes must be entered into PIP no later than 30 April, and approved no later than 31 July. Course withdrawals can be done at any time. The approval process must be completed by the stipulated deadlines.
Timetabling
CMIS will be open from the middle of February to end April to allow School Timetablers to make the required updates. Central room allocations will then take place in May prior to the release of the timetable in early June. Following room allocations in June, we will only accept essential changes on the timetable. The accepted reasons for change can be found on the timetabling website.
Moodle
Moodle Templates provide a consistent student experience by developing an informative and accessible Moodle template to be used throughout the University. The latest moodle templates for academic year 24/25 are available on the Learning Innovation & Support Unit Sharepoint, University of Glasgow staff can access this page using their UofG login. This page also has Gradebook set up instructions and access to Moodle Upskilling.
Reading Lists
Reading Lists must be communicated with the Reading List Service (library-readinglists@glasgow.ac.uk) by the end of July for Semester 1
Course Planning
The lecture recording system we use at the University of Glasgow is called Echo360. It can be used to record lectures in learning spaces on campus or for personal recording on your PC or device.
