Student experience is being captured throughout the ongoing evaluation of two new digital assessment platforms, as the University pilots this technology over academic year 2024/2025.
The pilot, which includes providers Cadmus and UNIWise, will also evaluate feedback from academic staff and professional services staff who support assessment activities during this trial period.
How is the student input captured?
Students whose courses participated in semester 1 of the pilot have been asked to provide their feedback via a short survey. To incentivise participation in the evaluation, and increase the submissions of feedback, we entered students who completed the survey into a prize draw for their participation. The winner for semester 1 has been notified.
How is feedback used to help steer decision making?
Students’ feedback about their experience plays a valuable role in helping the University better understand student needs and preferences, and how assessment platforms can support their learning through assessment, as well as using assessment feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
For Digital Assessment Platforms, student feedback will provide valuable insight into the overall experience while using these platforms and allow us to test areas such as usability, accessibility, integration with other existing technologies and the impact on assessment outcomes.
The evaluation is still ongoing into semester 2. We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has shared their reflections so far.
