The Exam Sustainability Project focuses on how we make year end exams sustainable, given the complexity of timetabling on-campus/online exams. To help with this, we are using a set of principles to ensure that subjects that must be examined in person, can be, whilst supporting areas that wish to retain online exams.

Assessing our students’ learning is an essential part of every degree. As a university we are moving away from high-stakes, end-of-year exams towards assessment that allows students to demonstrate their understanding in a variety of ways.
We are supporting this change in academic practice through the Learning and Teaching Strategy and through the University’s Assessment and Feedback Transformation Project with the approach discussed in the Learning Through Assessment consultation.
