Developed question stems that require the student to show knowledge of the course and link their answer to the course content and ILO’s. This makes it easier to spot when GenAI has been used inappropriately (i.e. without evaluation or editing) to generate answers. Require students to add citations and a reference list with DOI’s. Requires scaffolding via directed learning activities. Examples: 

  • Choose one case study of xxx and link it to lecture A and B, describing at least one recent (from the last five years) research report or review article that illustrates the link.  
  • Choosing one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, discuss how XXX subject can be used to address it, focus on this year’s topics and learning objectives. 
  • Choosing one recent (from the last five years) research report or review article about xxx briefly describe it and relate it to the course learning objectives. 
  • Describe briefly xxx and yyy readings (choose readings from two different lectures) from the class reading list and discuss how they both address theory A (from a third lecture/umbrella topic).
