GenAI use explicit for student
Example of assessment where students use GenAI to assist coding, as a world of work transferrable skill. Level 1 Psychology students to use AI critically on a data skills module assessment. Students get a mark across a range of outcomes.
Data Skills 1 – 5% - Mark for participation. Explicitly told this is to give a safety net to learn the basics. Giving a grade than making it formative should increase submission rate. MCQ with 11 questions conducted in lab (prev. Good student feedback)
Data Skills 2 – 10% - More challenging submission that requires them to produce a fully reproducible results section. They are allowed to use GenAI (still requires GenAI expertise to reproduce coding).
