HYBRID STUDENT CLUSTER DESKTOPS
Overview
These PCs can be used as an additional screen using your laptop or you can log into them directly, using your UofG username and password.
Please do not remove any cables from the PC or remove any power plugs from any sockets. This will stop the PC from working as normal.
Using the built in PC
The PC attached to the monitor is available for use if a laptop isn't connected.
- If the screen is blank, use the keyboard or mouse to wake the machine up.
Use as an additional screen
You can connect your laptop to use the PC monitor, using the USB-C cable provided, as an extra screen or to mirror your display.
Connecting your laptop to the monitor also charges it at the same time.
Using a Windows laptop
After connecting your laptop
- In the search field beside the Start menu, search for 'settings'.
- In the results displayed, select the Settings app to open it.
- Navigate to the System settings if required and then select the Display settings.
Click on the drop down menu under the monitor display and select the option you require:
- Extend these displays - use the monitor as an extra screen
- Duplicate these displays - use the monitor to mirror your screen
Using an Apple Mac
After connecting your Mac
- Open the Systems Settings, located in your dock.
- Open Displays.
Click on the drop down menu under the monitor display and select the option you require:
- Extend displays - use the monitor as an extra screen
- Mirror for... - use the monitor to mirror your screen
