Published: 22 May 2023
Al Thomson, University of Glasgow's Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Services, provides an update to the Network Programme in a Techtalk.
The Data Network at the University of Glasgow is a vital infrastructure component supporting the delivery of learning, teaching, research, and business operations for the University. It has grown over the years to meet an ever-increasing demand, which it does very well, but is now aging and in need of a refresh.
In this video, Al Thomson, Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Services, provides an update to the Network Programme.
Our goal is to redesign the university network as a modern network to enable an outstanding teaching and learning experience and create a much better operating environment. In essence:
- making it faster
- making it more secure
- making it scalable
- and with better Wi-Fi coverage
As a long-term project, your patience and support are greatly appreciated.
