The Data Network at the University of Glasgow is a vital infrastructure component supporting the delivery of learning, teaching, research, and business operations for the University. It has grown over the years to meet an ever-increasing demand, which it does very well, but is now aging and in need of a refresh.

In this video, Al Thomson, Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Services, provides an update to the Network Programme.

NP Techtalk by Al Thomson

Our goal is to redesign the university network as a modern network to enable an outstanding teaching and learning experience and create a much better operating environment. In essence:

  • making it faster
  • making it more secure
  • making it scalable
  • and with better Wi-Fi coverage

As a long-term project, your patience and support are greatly appreciated.
