Network port installation and activation
We recommend that you contact your local IT support first, for advice about installing or activating network ports.
- Your local IT support can advise about existing port locations and if a port needs to be installed and/or activated.
- Once it is determined what work is to be carried out, request the service needed below.
If you require a port to be both installed and activated, there are two steps involved to carry out this work. You must request installation with the Estates Helpdesk first.
Installation
This work is carried out by Estates.
- Contact the Estates Helpdesk to request port installation.
Activation
This work is carried out by IT Services.
- Contact the UofG Helpdesk to request port activation.
