Phishing - report suspicious emails
To protect our people, systems and data from cyber attackers, we are partnering with the Quorum Cyber Security team to manage reports of suspected phishing.
What is phishing?
Phishing emails are intended to trick you into sharing personal data, such as login details or financial information, and may appear to come from a person or organisation you trust.
Please treat all unexpected emails with suspicion, and remember:
- Do not click on links or open attachments in unexpected emails
- Never respond to an email asking for your ID or passwords
If an offer in an email seems to good to be true, it probably is!
How to report a suspected phishing email
To report an email that looks suspicious, please:
- Click the Report Message button at the top of the email window in Outlook, then select Phishing, or
- Forward the email to: report-phishing@glasgow.ac.uk
Your report will be directed to a Quorum Cyber Analyst, who will check the email. They will let you know whether the email has been identified as benign, suspicious or malicious, and advise on any steps you should take. They will also work closely with the UofG Information Security team to mitigate any threat.
