Antivirus and firewalls
If you have an SSD or a locally supported and managed system then antivirus, malware protection and firewalls are managed for you. Contact your local IT support or the UofG Helpdesk for details.
If you manage your own system then you are responsible for ensuring it has the most up to date antivirus and malware protection installed, and is protected with a firewall. The University supplies or recommends a number of antivirus and malware solutions; see links below. Most systems now have a firewall installed and enabled by default. It's your responsibility to ensure this is the case and to manage the firewall rules to protect not only your system but also other systems on the University network. See your system and software documentation for help with this.
