Updating your Zoom client on SSD from off campus
After powering on your device a mouse click or keypress will remove the welcome screen.
- Select OK to accept the University of Glasgow workstation usage policy and you will be presented with the SSD 10 login screen.
- Select the Internet/WI-FI button to open the wireless network screen, (the button is on the bottom right toolbar and looks like a dot with curved lines radiating from it).
- Connect to your wireless network - you may already be connected.
When you are connected to your selected WI-FI network, (or if you remain connected from a previous session) click the icon on the bottom right of the screen labelled Network sign-in, (it looks like a monitor in front of another monitor).
The VPN (Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility) client will appear.
Check that SBL is selected. If not, click the down arrow and select SBL
Select the Connect button
- From the Group drop-down list select Off Campus Use,
- enter your University of Glasgow GUID credentials then select OK.
The VPN connection will be established.
You will now be presented with the normal SSD 10 login screen. Enter your University of Glasgow GUID credentials in the format campus\YourGUID then press the Enter key or click the right-facing arrow.
You will be logged in and presented with your normal SSD desktop
- Open up Zoom. You should see an 'update available' notification- select update now. If you do not you may have been updated automatically.
- Alternatively, open Software Centre on your PC. Search for Zoom and select Install.
Note: Occasionally upon establishing the VPN connection the Cisco AnyConnect client will update itself then require you to restart your computer. After the restart please follow the above instructions again.
